Bass management is a crucial aspect of any audio system with subwoofers. Essentially, it's a system that ensures bass content from all incoming audio channels is directed only to the loudspeakers capable of reproducing it, whether these are your main speakers or one or a subwoofers.
ORIA Mini has a Subwoofer output, allowing you to redirect low-frequency content from your Left and Right speakers to a dedicated subwoofer. This is done by assigning a "crossover frequency" for the left and right speaker channels. Any audio below this frequency is then sent to the Subwoofer output. If required, you can set separate crossover frequencies for the left and right channels.
To select a crossover frequency, you would need to look at the frequency specification of your main speakers. This will give you a range of the frequencies that the speakers can reproduce, for example, 60Hz to 20,000Hz.
You would want to set your crossover frequency slightly above the lowest frequency that the speakers can reproduce. If the speaker can produce down to 60Hz, you may wish to set the crossover at 65-70Hz, for example. If you are unsure, we would recommend contacting your speaker's manufacturer, and they will be able to offer advice on the best crossover settings.
It's important that your Bass Management settings are set before you carry out any kind of measurements, whether this is via Sonarworks or a manual measurement. Otherwise, your measurements may be inaccurate
