Short Answer - YES!
ORIA Mini is perfectly suited to provide Room Calibration to a Fi-Fi System as well as in professional mixing studios. It's powerful on-board DSP and integration with SoundID Reference mean that you can very easily apply Room Correction and EQ adjustments to your setup.
Inputs and Outputs
The Inputs and outputs on ORIA Mini are all balanced 1/4" TRS connections. However, these kinds of balanced connections are fairly uncommon on Hi-Fi equipment. Not to worry, however, as ORIA Mini can also handle unbalanced connections.
If your Hi-Fi equipment has unbalanced RCA connections, then you can connect to ORIA Mini's inputs and outputs using 1/4" TS to RCA cables, which are readily available from most audio retailers.
If using passive speakers, ORIA Mini should be placed between your Sound Source (Pre-amp, DAC, Media Player...etc) and your Receiver/Power Amp.
If using Active Speakers, ORIA Mini should be placed between your Sound Source (Pre-amp, DAC, Media Player...etc) and your Speakers.
Importing Profiles to ORIA Mini
In order to add or import Profiles to ORIA Mini, ORIA Mini must be connected to a supported macOS or Windows computer via USB. Please note that the ORIA only needs to be connected to the computer to upload Profiles and otherwise can operate as a standalone device in your setup.
To apply room correction, a measurement of the room needs to be taken using either the included Sonarworks MREF Microphone or a measurement microphone of your choice. Please note that ORIA Mini does not have a microphone input, so a separate USB audio interface, such as Audient's iD range, should be used to connect the microphone to the computer to complete the measurement.
The simplest way to create a measurement and import it into ORIA mini would be via Sonarworks SoundID Reference; however, third-party measurement software can also be used. More information about taking measurements and creating Profiles can be found on our Helpdesk.
