If you are looking to use your Audient interface with Zoom please follow the guide below.
Once you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Zoom please navigate to settings by clicking the gear icon on the right hand side of the page, then open the 'audio' tab on the left hand side.
Using the "Speaker" and "Microphone" drop down menus, you can choose which input and output you would like to use. For example if you have a microphone connected to preamp 1, select "Input 1/2". For choosing your output select the relevant output you'd like to use, this will most likely be "Output 1/2.
The next setting is "Automatic adjust microphone volume" where you can choose whether or not to have the microphone gain adjusted by Zoom or not. This will not affect the physical gain setting on the interface, but will allow Zoom to adjust your input gain through its own algorithm.
Below that you have the noise suppression options;
- Original sound for musicians is the most important setting here. If you are using loop-back or trying to stream your desktop audio, enable this to adjust Zoom's streaming settings to the highest possible quality audio, which will disable noise suppression. You will be given some different options if you choose this.
If you hover over the "question" mark next to these you will see more information as to what they do, however for loop-back and audio streaming you will want "Stereo Audio" enabled.
Sending DAW output to Zoom using Loop-Back
If you are on Windows and are using a loop-back enabled interface, you can set your Zoom input to loop-back for streaming desktop audio or DAW output.
*IMPORTANT*
In some cases, Zoom needs the Audio profile setting to be set to 'Low' or 'Medium' in order to properly allow the loopback source to come through, due to its feedback prevention algorithm. You may need to temporarily set it to 'Auto' and then back to low / medium (see image below), in order to have your signal come through. (Try this whilst you have constant audio playback from your DAW such as a groove loop so you can see the signal as soon as it is there).
Ensure you DAW output is set to DAW 1/2 and then set your loopback source as DAW 1/2 from the iD mixer options.
