In order to enable Atmos / 5.1 audio playback via Netflix on Windows, follow the steps below.
1. Once you have installed the Dolby Access app and ORIA driver, and have ORIA connected to your PC, set ORIA as your Windows output device, and in the 'Spatial sound' section of the device properties, set it to 'Dolby Atmos for Headphones'.
(It is believed that Windows will only show the 'Dolby Atmos for home theatre' option here if connected to an AV receiver via HDMI, not for a USB audio device, however following these steps will provide the necessary workaround for this).
2. Enure your Input Source is set to USB and your output is set to 'Surround' in the ORIA app.
3. You can now check the Dolby Access app and it should show 'Ready to use / Speakers (Audient ORIA)' in the Dolby Atmos for Headphones section.
4. Navigate to the Netflix app or Netflix in Microsoft Edge and play back some content that shows the 'Dolby atmos / Spatial Audio' badges in the description
5. Click the Audio / subtitles options box to ensure the 5.1 audio track is selected (should occur by default if the previous steps have been followed).
5. Now re-open Windows sound settings and click on 'More sound settings' at the bottom
6. On the 'Speakers | Audient ORIA' device under the Playback tab, click on Configure and set the output to 5.1 Surround
(This should then 'trick' the Netflix app / MS Edge to continue playing in 5.1 after the speaker configuration change. The steps need to be performed in this order otherwise Netflix will default to stereo playback only.)
7. Finally, check in the ORIA app and you should now see audio signal on the additional channels.
