When importing a Profile from Sound ID Reference into ORIA Mini, in rare cases, an error can occur if the ORIA Mini Hardware is not being correctly recognised by the computer. The steps below walk you through how to resolve this.
Hardware
The first thing to check is the physical connection between ORIA Mini and your computer. Check that the USB cable is securely connected at both ends and is not damaged.
Next, try simply rebooting ORIA by removing the USB connection from either end, waiting a few seconds and then plugging it in again.
If you are still having difficulty, please try plugging the ORIA Mini into a different USB port or using a different USB cable.
If using a third-party cable, ensure the cable supports USB3.0 or later, and is below 2 meters in length.
If you are using a USB hub or USB adaptor, please try plugging the ORIA Mini directly into the computer in order to rule out a connection issue with the hub/adaptor.
Software
The hardware fixes above will fix most issues that can casue this error message. However if the issue remains, there are a few software fixes we can try.
Firstly, it should be checked that the ORIA mini is on the latest firmware. You can do this by opening the ORIA Control desktop software, going to the menu bar and clicking "Check for Firmware Updates". If an update is available you'll be prompted to isntall it.
Otherwise, we can try re-launching the Audient Device Manager service which handles the communication between the ORIA Mini hardware and the ORIA Control desktop software.
On macOS, open the Activity Monitor from your Utilities Folder in 'Applications'. Now find "Audient Device Manager" in the list of services. Selelct it and click the Stop button.
On Windows, press CTRL + ALT + DEL and then launch the Task Manager. Find "Audient App Launcher" and "Audient Device Manager", right click on both of them and select 'End Task'.
Now, in the ORIA Control desktop software, go to 'File > Quit'. Finally, Reboot the ORIA Mini by unplugging the USB cable, waiting a few seconds and plugging it in. Relaunch the ORIA Control desktop software which will also relaunch the Audien Device Manager.
Now try to re-import your Sound ID Reference Profiles into ORIA Mini. If you are still having the same error message, please raise a ticket with our support team.
