Nero uses Audient's Precision Matched Attenuation Technology to ensure that your Left/Right balance always stays constant even at low monitoring levels meaning you can make better informed mix decisions.
The signal path of the Nero is all analog, including the volume control meaning that the audio doesn't have to pass through any AD/DA conversion steps which can add noise or distortion. However, we also don't use an analog potentiometer as you may see on some volume controls as the tolerance between the left and right channels can vary which will affect your volume balance.
To achieve a solid stereo balance, we use a digitally controlled volume circuit which uses a microcontroller to precisely set the amount of resistance used to attenuate the signal. This means we can be sure that the left and right channels are always attenuated by the same amount.
